RAID controller firmware upgrade
How do I upgrade the firmware on my SecurStor 7200 RAID controller?
We recommend using HyperTerminal, although any terminal program should work.
If you are using Windows 2000, please download an updated version of HyperTerminal which corrects the 'arrow key' problem.
You can download the latest HyperTerminal from here.
The defaults port settings are: Baud Rate = 38400, Data Bits = 8, Parity = None, Stop Bits = 1, Flow Control = Hardware.
1. Halt all I/O activity to the RAID controller.
2. Connect a serial cable to the RAID chassis DB9 serial port.
3. Load terminal software to the correct settings and open a connection through the serial port.
4. Hit Escape then Enter to bring up the menu. Select the menu option for 'System Maintenance'.
5. Select Bootrecord with Firmware and upload the bootrecord (filename begins with b) first using the Zmodem protocol, then immediately the firmware (filename begins with f) using Zmodem protocol.
6. The RAID system will automatically reboot after the upload completes.
