IPMI related questions:

To obtain the IP address through a DHCP server

The IPMI interface can be located by finding a label on the back of the chassis “IPMI” and a MAC address. The MAC address should be similar to: 00:A2:23:B5:67. Use this MAC address and check the DHCP server on the Network for the IP address that it “pulled”.

Unable to Determine IP/DHCP Not Available

If you are unable to determine IP for your IPMI Interface please download the IPMI Configuration Utility ISO and burn it to a CD-ROM. You will need to reboot your host and boot off of the CD-ROM. Once booted onto the CD-ROM the current IP will be displayed as well as instructions for setting a static IP.

Connecting to the IPMI Interface

From any web browser on the same network you should be able to connect to the IPMI interface using the previously determined IP and connect via https, ex: https://<ip_determined_above>. The default username is ADMIN and the default password is also ADMIN, be sure to capitalize the username and password as they are case sensitive.

Configuring a Static IP

Connect to the IPMI Interface following the instructions above. Under Device Settings click on Network. From here you can change the IP configuration. If you do not know your IP see the "Unable to Determine IP/DHCP Not Available" FAQ above.

Lost Admin IPMI Password

If you have lost your IPMI password please download the IPMI Configuration Utility ISO and burn it to a CD-ROM. You will need to reboot your host and boot off of the CD-ROM. Once booted onto the CD-ROM run "defaultp". This will set the ADMIN user account back to a password of ADMIN. Note: This will also set your IP address to 192.168.1.201. Please follow the onscreen prompts to set a new IP.

Changing the Admin Password

Connect to the IPMI interface and login (see section above). Under User Management select Change Password.
