Factory Reset Controller to Default values

How do I reset my DZBlue to factory default settings?

NOTE: This will not delete the volumes cached on your DZBlue, however you will need to re-input your IP/network information along with any security settings.

1. Locate the reset button which is one the front bezel and is in the 8'th slot from the left on the lower left front of the bezel.

2. With the DZBlue powered on and idle (Status LED should be either solid green, or blinking amber), press the reset button (step 1) with a heavy duty paperclip and hold it down util the Status LED turns off (about 12 seconds).

3. Release the reset button, The DZBlue will automatically reboot in a moment. The ZerverView utility can be used at this point to set an IP address, or if DHCP is running on your network, an IP should be assigned automatically.

The ZerverView utility is located on the DZBlue support page for download, and included on the companion CD. If ZerverView fails to set an IP address for your DZblue or fails to find your DZBlue, here is some information you may find helpful:

The default name is Zxxxxxx where x=the last 6 digits of the MAC address of the DZBlue (printed on the bezel, or on the original server report included during shipment.)

The default IP address of the DZBlue is 10.10.10.10. If there is no DHCP server or it was not assigned an IP address, youi will need to connect a workstation to the same switch/hub as the Cyclone, disconnect any uplink connection, and set that workstation to an IP address of 10.10.10.1 and subnet of 255.255.255.0 with no gateway value set.

Once this is done, you can access the DZBlue and set a permanent static IP address via the admin web interface.

You can access the web based configuration via your web browser by typing in the DZBlue's IP address. Note: The default admin user name and password are admin/admin.

Reset Administration Password

The default login name is admin and the password is admin.

In the event you have lost your old password and caanot login, you will need to do the following:

1. Power the DZBlue off.

2. Locate the reset button which is one the front bezel and is in the 8'th slot from the left on the lower left front of the bezel.

3. Using a heavy duty paper clip, hold the reset button down while powering on the DZBlue.

4. The DZBlue's Status LED will begin blinking amber in a few moments. Once the LED is blinking amber, release the reset button.

5. Allow the DZBlue to finish booting. Once done, the password will be reset to 'admin' for 5 minutes to allow the administrator to access the web interface and change the password.

Upgrading Firmware

How do I upgrade the firmware on my DZBlue?

ZerverView is the recommended way to upgrade your firmware. YOu can download ZerverView from the DZBlue support page.

1. Launch ZerverView. If it does not find your DZBlue see the FAQ 'ZerverView doesn't find my DZBlue, what do I do?

2. Right click on the name of your DZBlue, select the 'Reflash Firwmare' option.

3. Login to the DZBlue using the same administrator account you would use to login the admin web interface.

4. Download the firmware file from the main DZBlue support page if you haven't already.

5. Zerverview will then ask you for the path to the DZBlue firmware image. Select the file.

6. The DZBlue will now be upgraded to the new firmware and automatically reboot after the upgrade is complete.

DZBlue not found in ZerverView

ZerverView doesn't find my DZBlue, what do I do?

If your DZBlue is on a different segment than your workstation, you may need to manually tell ZerverView the IP address.

Open ZerverView and go to the 'options' menu and select 'Edit Remote Server List'; add the IP Address of your DZBlue.

Work-around for ZerverView reporting "Unable to open/bind socket"

ZerverView is reporting an error message "Unable to open/bind socket" and closes, how do I fix this?

ZerverView uses a special port number on the workstation and the NAS controller to 'talk' to each other. This same port number is used by the Hewlett Packard JetAdmin printer service.

Solution: Prior to launching ZerverView, disable the HP JetAdmin service on the Windows workstation, or install ZerverView on a workstation without the HP JetAdmin software.
