You can connect DVD+RW drive with the DataShare x2 server and have DVD+R or DVD+RW disc burned in "Backup --> CD Loader/Writer". For the recommended device list, please refer to the FAQ section of the DataShare x2 server. 2. The "bad sector re-map" feature is added to the volume service module of the DataShare x2 server. When the DataShare x2 server finds any bad sectors during data access, the volume service module will enable the HDD's "auto-fix" feature for error recovery. If the bad sectors cannot be recovered by HDD itself, the DataShare x2 server will re-map the bad sectors to a reserved location. The data access to the volume will work normally as usual. The size of the reserved re-mapping area is 1M bytes for each HDD. 3. Improve the overall performance of accessing a RAID 5 volume for ~ 30%. 4. There will be a new window to show "inherited list", which the security is inherited from parent folder. This is a more similar behavior to Windows NT or 2000 platform for setting security. 8. ISO9660 Joliet and Rock-Ridge extension support. The format of CD-R or CD-RW disc produced by "Backup -- CD writer" feature is now compliant to ISO9660 Joliet and Rock-Ridge extension. 9. A performance improvement of CD writing. The "Burn-Proof" and "Just Link" feature of the CD writer will be natively enabled while you are writing the source data to that CD writer; and DataShare x2 will also configure the CD writer to write CD-R or CD-RW disc at a maximum speed. 10. For the users who are using the evaluation version firmware (earlier than v1.11), you may encounter the following problems while or after you upgrade firmware to v1.11: 1. Firmware upgrade can not be proceeded. 2. The system configuration will be set to factory default. 3. The data stored in previously built RAID volume will be possibly corrupted.
